EagleEye (“the App”) is a personal golf scoring and stats app. This policy explains what information is used when you use EagleEye on iPhone (and related Apple platforms where offered).
1. Summary
- Your rounds, courses, practice logs, goals, and settings are stored on your device.
- EagleEye does not require you to create an EagleEye account.
- EagleEye does not operate a cloud service that hosts your scorecards for us.
- Optional features may use Location, Camera, Photos, or the network when you use them.
- Optional in‑app purchases are processed by Apple.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the App, EagleEye may store on your device:
- Golf rounds and hole details (scores, putts, tags such as GIR/fairway, notes, etc.)
- Course library data (names, tees, yardages, flyover pins you save)
- Goals and seasons
- App preferences (units, appearance, notification preferences, Demo Mode, etc.)
- Local backups and recovery snapshots created by the App
This information stays on your device unless you export it, share it, back up your device (for example iCloud Backup of the device), or send it through Apple or third-party share sheets you choose.
3. Information you may share deliberately
Only if you choose to, you may:
- Export or share rounds, course packages, full database backups, or analysis text files
- Share courses via Messages or Files
- Save images (for example round snapshots) to Photos
- Send files to other apps (Mail, Files, AI apps, etc.) using the system share sheet
Those destinations have their own privacy practices. EagleEye does not control what a recipient or another app does with content you send.
4. Optional permissions
Location
If you allow Location (When In Use), EagleEye may use it for:
- Weather near a course or location you entered
- Optional GPS aids on hole flyovers / distance context while playing
- Optional learning of a course area pin from play (to help suggest nearby courses later)
Location is not required to start a round, enter scores, or use core tracking. You can deny Location and still use the App.
Camera
If you allow Camera, it is used only when you choose to photograph a paper scorecard for on-device text recognition (OCR) to help import course/scorecard details you can edit.
Photos
If you allow Photos access, EagleEye may:
- Read a scorecard image you select for on-device OCR import
- Save images you request (for example a round snapshot) to your library
EagleEye does not browse your photo library in the background.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, EagleEye may send local notifications (for example unfinished round reminders, flyover map status, or goal-related alerts you enable). These are scheduled on your device according to your Settings in the App.
5. Network services (optional features)
When a feature needs the internet, your device may contact third-party services. Those services receive only what is needed for the request (for example a place name or approximate location for weather). EagleEye does not sell your data.
- Weather: Open-Meteo (or similar weather API used by the App) for conditions snapshots.
- Course search: an on-device US course pack. Adding a course may request a live scorecard so the holes fill in. Results you add stay in your private local library. EagleEye never asks you to create an account or log in — with us or with anyone else — to search or add a course.
- Flyover / maps: public map data is used to draw hole layouts; the satellite picture may use Apple MapKit. You never sign in. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors where applicable.
- Course invite links: If you share a course, a short-lived or hosted web page may be used so Messages can show a preview; opening the link can hand off into EagleEye on devices that have the App.
Third parties process data under their own privacy policies.
6. Purchases
Optional unlocks are sold as Apple In-App Purchases. Payment is processed by Apple. EagleEye receives an entitlement signal from Apple’s systems (for example that a non-consumable was purchased or restored) so the App can unlock features. EagleEye does not receive your full credit card number.
Free trial limits (finished rounds / completed holes) may be stored on your device so the trial cannot be reset simply by deleting finished rounds. That counter is for app functionality, not advertising.
7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
- EagleEye is not designed to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- EagleEye does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
- EagleEye does not sell your personal information.
If Apple provides crash or performance reports through your system settings or App Store Connect, those are handled under Apple’s processes and your device settings.
8. Children
EagleEye is a general golf utility, not directed at children under 13. Do not use the App if you are not allowed to under the laws of your region.
9. Data retention and deletion
- You can delete rounds, courses, and other items in the App.
- You can clear app data using in-app data tools where provided, or by deleting the App (which removes local app data, subject to any device backups you keep).
- Device backups (for example iCloud or computer backups) are controlled by you and Apple, not by an EagleEye cloud account.
10. International users
The App is used on your device wherever you are. Optional network requests go to whatever regions those service providers operate in.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised policy.
